Rygor Plant, a division of Wiltshire-based van dealer Rygor, has made a game-changing move in the UK construction machinery market. The company has announced its exclusive partnership as the UK dealer for Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG), a leading Chinese earthmoving machinery manufacturer.
With annual sales exceeding £10 billion, XCMG is a global powerhouse in construction machinery production, ranking just behind industry titans Caterpillar and Komatsu. However, the UK market has remained largely untapped by the Chinese brand. Rygor Plant is set to change this narrative, aiming to demonstrate XCMG’s readiness to conquer the UK market.
Rygor’s Evolution
Starting as a family haulage business in the 1960s, Rygor has continually evolved and expanded its operations. The company secured authorization as a Mercedes-Benz repairer in the 1980s, marking a pivotal moment in its growth. Today, Rygor Commercials operates a network of 11 authorized Mercedes-Benz Van and Truck branches across the UK.
Building on this success, Rygor ventured into the construction machinery sector with the establishment of Rygor Plant. The division made its grand debut at the esteemed Plantworx trade fair last month. This move follows a management buyout in November 2022, with John Keogh and Rish Channa assuming sole ownership of the company.
