Mobile People Powered Logistics
Hot Mobile People Powered Logistics (Mobile PPL), a renowned transport and logistics operator, has achieved a significant milestone on the eve of World Environment Day. The company proudly announces its certification as a Carbon Neutral Business, recognized under the UN’s esteemed ISO 14064 calculation. With this achievement, Mobile PPL solidifies its position as the only independent operator in the UK, and the first independent haulier and palletized delivery business in England and Wales, to attain this prestigious goal.
Headquartered in Birmingham, with a distribution and logistics center in Aylesbury, Mobile PPL specializes in providing high-quality supply chain solutions for palletized freight distribution, haulage, warehousing, and fulfillment. With a dedicated team of over 120 professionals and a fleet of 60 owned vehicles covering key industrial regions across the UK mainland, the company successfully manages over 300,000 shipments annually through its ownership in Pallet-Track and its own haulage and distribution fleet.
This announcement arrives at a critical juncture when businesses in the sector face mounting pressure to address their environmental impact while upholding service levels and profit margins in a highly competitive market. Over the past five years, Mobile PPL has operated under the ISO 14001 environmental management framework, driving decision-making processes across machinery, equipment, warehousing, and administration to reduce emissions and adhere to stringent criteria.
Mobile PPL embarked on its journey to carbon neutrality in 2022 by aligning customer expectations with internal ambitions and motivations. This process culminated in March 2023 through a partnership with Carbon Neutral Britain, a reputable UK offsetting program. Through this collaboration, Mobile PPL effectively offsets its environmental impact by investing in projects aimed at removing carbon dioxide and greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
Setting their sights even higher, Mobile PPL aspires to become a Zero Emissions business by 2037. The company hopes that its achievement will inspire others in the industry to follow suit, fostering the necessary demand to expedite research and investment in more sustainable technologies for the haulage sector. Although current technology doesn’t permit any national haulage and distribution business to achieve Zero Emissions, Mobile PPL remains resolute in leading the charge toward a greener future.
